Entertainment Fit to Be Tied Tonight

An actor we know, frequently the Toast
Of the Tabloids (occasionally tabloid toast)
Who self-produced, self-directed, and self
Abused most of his box-office bonanzas, took

The bull by the hornets in his last picture
And cast his fate to the whims by casting
His wife as his mistress and his mistress as
His wife, thereby ending up with the woman

He really wanted at the final fade,
And maintaining his miasma of morality
Mainly because most of the entertainment
Reporters could not keep the two women

Straight, and those who could report
The story straight simply would not be believed,
Hollywhoops being what it is. The two women,
Knowing damned well what the score is,

Have decided to swap roles for the sequel,
So that the actor's wife will play his mistress
Playing his wife, and the actor's mistress
Will play his wife playing his mistress.

They get along because the mistress
Has a mistress, along with a very loose
Domestic partnership arrangement and
A big, fat speckled bird, who also fools around,

But only with animated cartoon characters,
To the bemusement of the gossipologists.
The movie bombed, unfortunately, but
The publicity won several Golden Glib awards.
